A. Pennacchi & Sons traces the water in your Ewing Township basement to where it actually gets in, then proposes the repair that closes it.

Basement Waterproofing in Ewing Township, NJ

Find The Entry Point First

A wet basement in Ewing Township can have more than one cause. Water gets in through a crack in a foundation wall, a poorly drained window well, the joint where the wall meets the floor, or a gap around a pipe, and each of those needs a different repair. A. Pennacchi & Sons looks for the entry point before recommending anything, because sealing the wrong spot leaves you paying twice.

The company has worked out of Mercer County since 1947. Our shop is in Hamilton, on the far side of Trenton from Ewing, and the same family runs it four generations on. Call (609) 394-7354 to talk through what you are seeing.

You can also request an estimate online.

What Shapes The Cost Of The Job

The price follows the scope, and the scope follows what the inspection finds. Where the water is coming in, what the foundation is built from, whether the repair can be done from inside or needs digging outside, and whether masonry or concrete repair is part of it all move the number. Sealing one crack is a much smaller job than digging out a foundation wall.

You get a written proposal with the scope and one total after the site visit. We do not quote waterproofing over the phone, since the quote would be a guess.

Waterproofing Work We Do In Ewing Township

Foundation wall dug out and sealed from the outside

Interior Drainage And Sump Pumps

A French drain along the inside of the foundation collects water and carries it to a sump pump, so it leaves the basement before it can pool.

Exterior Waterproofing

The soil is dug away from the foundation wall so the wall can be sealed and drained from the outside, where the water first reaches it.

Foundation Crack Sealing

Cracks in poured concrete, block or stone walls are sealed where water is coming through.

Window Well Drainage

A window well that holds water sends it straight at the wall. Correcting the drainage takes that water away.

Related Masonry And Concrete Repair

When the wall itself is failing, the waterproofing is paired with the masonry or concrete repair it needs, from the same company.

For commercial and multi-unit buildings, we also offer below and above grade waterproofing for foundations, terraces and parking decks. When the walls themselves need work, see our interior and exterior restoration services.

What A Customer Said After Two Other Companies

My basement was leaking really bad and had 2 different companies come out and try to fix the problem with no luck. Decided to try a third time and luckily I came across APS. They came out and did amazing work and solved all my issues. Put in a French drain, sump pump, and stuccoed the walls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will A Sump Pump Alone Fix A Damp Basement?
Usually not on its own. A sump pump removes water that has already collected in the pit. If nothing is guiding water to it, water keeps finding its own way across the floor. A. Pennacchi & Sons can pair a pump with interior drainage, or closes the entry point from outside so less water arrives in the first place.
Why Is My Basement Still Wet Days After The Rain Stopped?
Soil holds water long after a storm, and wet ground keeps pressing against the foundation wall until it drains. Water that shows up days later often means the entry point is low on the wall or at the floor joint rather than near a window.
Should I Waterproof From The Inside Or The Outside?
Exterior waterproofing stops water before it reaches the wall. Interior drainage manages water after it has come through. Which one fits depends on the foundation, what is next to it outside, and where the water is entering, and that is what the site visit is for.
Do You Also Repair The Foundation Wall?
Yes. A. Pennacchi & Sons is a masonry and concrete restoration company as well as a waterproofing contractor, so cracked or deteriorated foundation walls can be repaired as part of the same scope.

“I had a roofer come out for a small leak in my attic. He fixed it and while up on the roof took pictures of my chimney. Told me I had a big problem. Lot of mortar missing. I called A. Pennacchi & Sons. Paul came out the next day. He told me what needed to be done and gave me a price. I asked him if I should add a few bricks to the top. He said "why do you want to spend more money?" What contractor says that? The men came out a few days later. On time, polite, got right to work, and cleaned up like they were never there. Paul had given me a choice of colors. His price was the best one. My chimney now looks absolutely beautiful. I would give them 10 stars.”

Nick was excellent at coordinating the effort, including preparation, window replacement, waterproofing, clean up, and follow up to inquire about and resolve a few questions. “Pennacchi sealed our basement 2 years ago. After a recent heavy rain we noticed seepage and asked Pennacchi to look at it. They sent Nick, who did an excellent job diagnosing the problem, finding the most likely seepage site, and then repairing it. Nick came by the next day, inspected the repair, and also improved sealing of 2 utility pipe entries. The rapid response, competency, diligence, and follow-up were excellent.”

“We are so impressed with Pennacchi & Sons. Multiple people recommended this company as the best in the region. For a company with a huge legacy, working throughout the county, there was no hesitation to see what our small job looked like and whether they could help. The crew was friendly, timely, and efficient. Ray walked us through the process, gave us a play-by-play for the best understanding of the work, and answered tons of questions. The end result was better than the original.”

“Pennacchi has an exceptional reputation and we now have firsthand experience of their stellar work. The precision craftsmanship and professionalism are impressive. We had our chimneys repointed, brickwork restored, and a basement wall resealed. It all blends seamlessly and looks gorgeous. Ask for Sam as your foreman if you can, he was amazing. The entire crew was fantastic. Kudos to Paul and the leadership for building a great team. Impeccable service and beautiful finished product.”

“Water was getting into my house because of the old brick exterior. It needed to be repointed and painted on the interior. Although this was a very small job, Paul and his son Paul Junior were incredibly professional, listened, and addressed my concerns. I left their crew to complete the work without being home and everything was safe and secure when I got back. They kept their work areas clean and took away their trash. Paul’s price was the most competitive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

We consulted with a few other people before speaking with Paul, the owner. Paul came up with an effective and cost-effective solution for us. We are very happy with the service and highly recommend Paul to everyone.”
